ARGUS is the name of our newest desert facility, a 117 acre power and production complex, boasting the industry's most efficient cogeneration systems.

Here, lake brine is mixed with carbon dioxide. This changes the sodium carbonate in the brine to sodium bicarbonate, which is less soluble and may then be separated out by filtration. The result is further refined to dense sodium carbonate (soda ash).
